Musys in Malta

what is this about?

In February 2004 Annie, the lady of the house and a teacher, decided to take her half term break in Malta by staying with some friends who had moved there a year or two earlier. You can do a great deal in Malta in a week and Annie, helped by Lyndon and Lillianne, found a house in Zejtun (pronounced "zay-toon") which was reasonably sound but without doors or windows. In Maltese terms this is an "unconverted house of character"; in British terms it is a "wreck". So started this story. The pictures here show a little of what has been achieved during the two years after purchase but to how it was achieved and what the house is now like can be found by either clicking on the drop down above titled "The House" or here.

the islands of malta

The islands of Malta consist of Malta, Gozo and Comino. Geographically they lie at the crossroads of the Meditteranean, a fact which has been a blessing and curse depending upon the era. They also lie at the meeting of christianity and islam, part of Europe but one step away from Africa, fiercely independant but heavily influenced by the heritages of Italy and the UK, full of history and yet pushing into the future. The most denselly populated European nation that defies comparison with any other. There is only one Malta, and most either love or hate it, more..

Sailing in Malta varies from the dinghy to the mega yachts of the world's super-rich. Discover more from the perspective of a Cornish Shrimper owner, more..
